His Story

Todd Pajonas, donning a fishing hat as he explores his native New York in a Hemingwayesque fashion that would make even papa on his gruffest of days proud, smiles when asked about his work as a writer. “Unlikely,” he grins walking up the hill, “my high school English teacher definitely didn’t think I’d have a novel published.” You wouldn’t think ‘reluctant writer’ would have been his m.o. in his teenage years – judging by his now prolific short story writing – but he’s living proof that high school isn’t the finish line, after all.

Author

But despite an early skepticism towards his relationship with writing, Todd grew into the craft, a discipline he says he will continue to grow in for the rest of his life. Always an avid consumer of books, it was never unusual to find him in his room devouring mysteries, sci-fi, history, classics, and pretty much anything with a cover and pages. Now, it seems, Todd has developed a love for writing that is equal to that of his childhood joys of reading, and the possibility of creating his own worlds – like the greats he was brought up on – is constantly fascinating to him.
Todd’s first novel, The New American Reich, is a dark dystopian re-imagining of World War II, chilling and provocative “what if” tale about the United States and Nazi Germany ending up as allies in World War II against Russia.

Adventure

When not writing, Todd Pajonas enjoys getting outside and stretching his limbs and mind. “Hiking, kayaking – those are the types of things I like to do when I’m not working, reading, or writing.” He continues with a smile, “well, and I can’t forget the occasional cigar and the glass of bourbon – those are always pretty great, too.”

Todd Pajonas has been married to his beautiful wife for what seems like forever (but in a good way, he assures), with a wonderful, beautiful, and talented daughter. “I have a dog, too” he adds, “he’s my writing and travel companion.”

When he’s not writing, Todd Pajonas serves as President of Legal 1031 Exchange Services, Inc., and a frequent lecturer on 1031 exchanges, and other real estate tax related topics. He is also a respected member of the New York Bar.

Todd is a graduate of Saint John’s University and from Touro Law School where he received his Juris Doctor degree.
